Meredith Stone began her tenure as executive director of Baptist Women in Ministry in August 2020. Meredith most recently served as Associate Dean for Academics and Assistant Professor of Scripture and Ministry at Logsdon Seminary of Hardin-Simmons University.

A native Texan, Meredith has previously served as an ordained minister in the roles of Teaching Pastor and Interim Pastor for Emerging Adults in Baptist congregations in Texas, and as Women in Ministry Specialist for Texas Baptists. She is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University (B.A., M.A.) and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biblical Interpretation from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.
Meredith has been connected to BWIM and involved in advocacy for women in ministry throughout her career. She is a long-time financial supporter of BWIM and served on the Leadership Team from 2010-2015. She is also a writer who has written extensively on women in ministry and related issues for BWIM, the Baptist Standard, and EthicsDaily.com (now Good Faith Media), in addition to her academic publication, Empire and Gender in LXX Esther (SBL Press, 2018).

Rev. Dr. Lynn Brinkley

Lynn Brinkley is associate director of Baptist Women in Ministry. She joined the staff in January 2020. Lynn previously served as director of church, alumni, and student relations at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, North Carolina, where she had been on staff since May 2007.

Since 2012, she was an adjunct Instructor, teaching in both Campbell University’s Divinity School and the Christian Studies Department. Lynn earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in May 2014, a Master of Divinity degree from Campbell University Divinity School in May 2008, a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in May 1997, and a Bachelor of Science and Sociology degree from North Carolina State University in May 1992.
Active in the Baptist community, Lynn is the vice-president of the ministers division for the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, serves on the board of Baptist Joint Committee, and is currently co-chair of BJC’s executive committee. She serves as associate minister at First Baptist of Fayetteville, North Carolina and was ordained on May 4, 2014. Lynn was a board member of the Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina, and from 2015 to 2018, she served on Baptist Women in Ministry’s Leadership Team
A frequent guest preacher at churches of diverse denominations, Lynn is also the author of Manners and Money: A Manual on Preaching Etiquette.

Heather Deal joined the BWIM staff in January 2023, bringing her 15 years of experience in fundraising to Baptist Women in Ministry. For the past four years she served as the Director of Development for the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University.

Prior to her time at Baylor she served in various fundraising positions for Habitat for Humanity NYC, the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, and Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City.
Heather received her Bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University, Master of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor, and Master of Social Work from the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Social Work from the Garland School. Heather lives in Waco, Texas.

Laura Ellis

Laura Ellis joined the Baptist Women in Ministry staff as Project Manager in August 2021. She recently graduated from Boston University School of Theology with an M.Div. where she studied the biblical and theological basis of the divine empowerment of women’s leadership and flourishing in all aspects of ministry and life.

Laura received a certificate in Religion and Conflict Transformation from the Boston Theological Institute and studied the connection between complementarianism and gender based violence. Working with Safe Havens Interfaith Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse, she helped raise awareness in faith communities about different forms of violence experienced by congregants.
Laura is originally from Abilene, Texas and grew up attending BWIM events. Following a call to ministry, she received a B.A. in Christian Studies from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has been involved with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, spending nine months in Bali, Indonesia working alongside field personnel. As a past Clemons Fellow for Baptist News Global, she is also a regular contributor to BNG. Much of her writing features women’s voices and focuses on promoting safe and equal spaces for all genders.

Hannah Kucera

Hannah Kucera joined the BWIM staff in November 2022. She is a 2014 graduate of Tarleton State University with a BBA in Accounting. Hannah previously worked at Neighborly, formerly The Dwyer Group, as a Staff Accountant from 2014-2016. In 2016 she started as the Staff Accountant for Lisa Hull, CPA, working with multiple small businesses in the Waco, TX area.

She also started working for Seventh and James Baptist Church in 2017 where she gained experience and knowledge in non-profit accounting. While working in the accounting field Hannah has found a passion for helping others understand and implement the best and most efficient financial practices.
Hannah is a native to Waco, TX. She still lives there with her husband, DJ, and two young children. She enjoys being out in nature and being active with her family as much as possible.
