When I was nine years old, I wanted to be a medical missionary to Africa; I even went forward to share that call with my church.  But I heard: “girls don’t go to medical school,” “you would be all alone without your family,” and “that’s what men do.” Feeling discouraged, I turned away from that call.

But there was encouragement, too. It came from women who set examples. There were teachers who led me to opportunities. There were church ladies who mothered me as I learned to mother my own children.

When my daughters were born, I determined that they would be supported in whatever calling came to them.  When Sarah was called to ministry, Baptist Women in Ministry supported her. Baptist women have fortified, taught, laughed, cried, mourned, celebrated and ministered with and to her. And Sarah is doing the same for others, always listening for God’s call and uplifted by Baptist Women in Ministry

I give to Baptist Women in Ministry in honor of my daughter, Sarah Holik Murray.

Be 1 of 100! Baptist Women in Ministry currently has eighty-five individuals, churches, and organizations that give monthly to our work. We would love to have 100 monthly supporters, and this week we hope to add at least fifteen to our giving list! Monthly gifts provide dependable income for our work and allow BWIM to continue being an advocate, a network, and a connection for Baptist women ministers! Small monthly gifts of $10 or $20 or larger monthly gifts of $50 or $75 make a significant difference!

We invite you to join Karlan as a monthly giver and to be 1 of 100!
