The Endorser walks alongside the endorsed clergy of the Alliance of Baptists, offering steady support and care, while also guiding those who are exploring a call toward endorsement as chaplains. Central Seminary is seeking a Senior Director of Development (SDD) to provide strategic leadership for the Seminary’s philanthropic program. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the leadership team, the SDD will lead development strategy, manage Central’s major gift, foundation, church, and planned giving efforts, and supervise a development team responsible for annual giving, donor relations, and development operations. The SDD will also work closely with Central’s senior communications leadership to ensure fundraising messages and donor communications effectively advance Central’s philanthropic priorities. Central operates with an annual budget of approximately $4 million, with philanthropy responsible for generating approximately $2.4 million each year. The SDD will lead the strategy to achieve this goal and equip the President, development staff, board members, and other organizational leaders to play meaningful roles in Central’s fundraising success. The SDD can expect to travel approximately 15% of the time to cultivate and steward donors and advance key philanthropic relationships.

Support existing and grow new adult education programs, such as Sunday morning Bible Study, small groups, book studies and speaker series. Plan and coordinate special events, including mission activities, outings, and camps. Cultivate and equip volunteers to work with the educational ministries. Present regular updates regarding the education, children’s and youth ministries to church committees and conferences. Prepare annual budgets for assigned areas of responsibility. Work with the other ministers and the congregation in a collaborative environment. With the ministerial team, provide pastoral care and worship leadership.
Qualifications: Relevant graduate education such as a seminary degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. A feeling of God’s call to minister at UBC, a welcoming and affirming church. An innovative, creative spirit and enthusiasm for spiritual education and equipping children and youth.
