Come join us in June in Dallas for worship, fellowship, and some great Tex-Mex. Baptist Women in Ministry will host its annual gathering on Wednesday, June 17, at Wilshire Baptist Church. The morning begins at 10:00 a.m with worship, and our theme this year is LIVING GENEROUSLY.
With three months to go, I am already so excited about this gathering, and you will be too once you know the details. Our worship leader will be Ossie X. McKinney. Ossie is minister of music at Faith Baptist Church in Atlanta and will soon graduate from McAfee School of Theology. She has a powerful story and a beautiful voice, and I am thrilled she will lead our worship time.
Our preacher for the morning will be Julie Pennington-Russell. Julie serves as pastor of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. She is one of the most gifted preachers we have in Baptist circles (and well beyond) and is a much-loved mentor, respected community leader, and great friend to Baptist Women in Ministry.
An incredible lunch will be served following worship. Tickets for lunch will be $20 and will be available on March 3 on the BWIM website. More details to come soon.
During our gathering, we will present our two Addie Davis Awards, one for preaching and one for leadership, and we will also recognize a Distinguished Mentor and a Church of Excellence.
But what makes me most excited is that we will be together, sitting beside one another in the pews, eating with one another around the tables, sharing stories, visiting with old friends, making new friends, and celebrating God’s good work among us. So SAVE THE DATE. Plan on being in Dallas and joining us for worship and lunch!
